Sculptures In The Garden

lifestyle Sep 09, 2024

A not for profit organisation who exist to provide public art for the community to enjoy and we leave an ongoing legacy in the form of sculpture throughout Mudgee and the region, featuring winning acquisition artworks.

Sculptures in the Garden, held annually at Rosby Wines in Mudgee, celebrates artists from across the nation in a stunning rural setting. Now in its 14th year, Sculptures In The Garden has grown into the largest sculpture exhibition in regional Australia, drawing thousands of visitors annually.

The event showcases the intersection of art, nature and community, with proceeds supporting local charities and the acquisition of sculptures for public display. SIG has worked closely with Guide Dogs NSW/ACT in raising significant funds for the charity.

This not-for-profit exhibition spotlights the diverse talent of Australia’s sculpture artists, providing a platform for unique pieces to be experienced and purchased by art lovers and gives artists from across Australia the opportunity to exhibit their talents and win major awards which help fund their ongoing work.

It has become a significant cultural and social occasion, contributing to Mudgee’s reputation as an artistic hub. Moreover, it stimulates regional tourism, extending the visitation momentum from the Mudgee Wine Festival, and strengthening the appeal of the Central West.

The exhibition encourages people to get out of the city and experience everything regional communities have to offer; and with over 300 sculptures and outdoor artworks on display by local and regional artists, there’s something for everyone.

From artist demonstrations and talks, to garden walks, artist tours, live music, a local children’s exhibition and special guests it’s certainly worth a visit this October.

And if you’re not visiting in October you can still experience the essence of Sculptures in the Garden by taking a stroll through the Mudgee Sculpture Walk in Lawson Park where some of the works from previous years have become part of Mudgee’s public art collection.
